The GCP is required to undertake a gateway review every four to five years, which if successful, unlocks more funding for the next five years.
The first review, which concluded in 2019, was a success and released £200m. Work for the second review started in January 2023 and a number of reports on our progress will be submitted to the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities over the coming eighteen months. The process will conclude in spring 2025.
The local evaluation framework for the current gateway review was submitted to government in spring 2023.
