Have your say on routes for Melbourn and Sawston Greenways

Published: Tuesday, June 18, 2019

Proposals for new walking, cycling and equestrian routes to help people living in villages south of Cambridge get into the city are out to public consultation today.

People are being invited to give their views on the Melbourn and Sawston routes as part of the Greater Cambridge Greenways network - 12 routes for cyclists, walkers and other users linking surrounding villages to the city.

The seven-week consultation was launched by the Greater Cambridge Partnership on 17 June. The GCP will be holding five public events where people can find out more about the schemes.

These are:

  • Sunday 23 June - Stapleford recreation ground - 11:00am - 12:00pm
  • Thursday 11 July - Melbourn Hub - 6:30pm - 8:30pm
  • Tuesday 16 July – Addenbrooke’s Concourse 11:00am - 1:00pm
  • Tuesday 23 July - Spicers Sports Pavilion - 6pm - 8pm
  • Thursday 25 July - Harston Village Hall - 6pm - 8pm

Leaflets will be delivered to villages along the proposed routes this week. To have your say, complete a survey – either in print or online – by 5 August.

The GCP is currently spending £4.6m upgrading existing cycling and walking links across the Greater Cambridge Greenways network to make it easier and safer for people to walk or cycle on these routes.
