From today, Monday 3 July, the Greater Cambridge City Deal will be known as the Greater Cambridge Partnership.
The updated name and strapline of ‘Growing and Sharing Prosperity’ intends to improve wider engagement with the multi-million pound programme which is working to deliver vital infrastructure improvements and thousands of new homes and jobs to Greater Cambridge.
The refresh comes as leaders have reflected on the evolving role of the local academic-business-council partnership, three years after the City Deal agreement was struck with central Government bringing up to £500 million in additional Government investment to the area.
The partnership, with its vision of ‘working together to grow and share prosperity and quality of life now and in the future’, will remain a vocal supporter for investment and change which leads to sustainable economic growth in the Greater Cambridge area.
The launch of the refreshed vision and brand comes during a major recruitment drive. These changes and enhanced resources will ensure the partnership is strong and fit for purpose as it looks to deliver and explore a range of projects including transformational transport initiatives.
Chair of the Executive Board, Cllr Lewis Herbert said: “This is more about how we connect with people interested, impacted or set to benefit from our work to improve their day-to-day lives and to manage the challenges of growth in our highly successful economy.
“Now was the right time to reflect and refresh our vision and identity to remain a force for good and champions of strong communities and quality of life in our area. We will continue to deliver our City Deal and achieve all the benefits it affords.”
Later this week will see the launch of the partnership’s new website, details will be published soon. The website, developed following close consultation with officers, members and the public, offers a fresh, modern and engaging look and feel and, following the launch of the basic platform, will continue to be developed in partnership with staff and the community to provide a high-quality and comprehensive channel for information and engagement.
