Sign up for Winter Wheelers!

Published: Friday, November 29, 2019

People are being encouraged to take part in Winter Wheelers – the latest campaign to get more people cycling in and around Greater Cambridge.

Cycling champions Love to Ride have developed a cycling ‘advent calendar’ that aims to help new or occasional riders take to two wheels in December. Seasoned all-weather cyclists can be motivated to brave the winter elements through daily giveaways, tips and advice.

Love to Ride is running four cycle challenges on behalf of the Greater Cambridge Partnership, including the hugely successful Cycle September and December’s Winter Wheelers, which includes daily draws for winter kit, such as lights and hi-visibility garments.

Riders have a chance of winning a new bike every Wednesday and everyone who takes part receives a discount code for shopping with sponsors Proviz, Beryl and Loffi. There are additional prizes for the best photos and videos shared on the Love to Ride website and social media. To take part:

  • Register at lovetoride.net
  • Join your company or invite your workplace to register.
  • Log rides manually in December or connect your favourite cycling app, such as Strava or MapMyRide. Rides will be recorded automatically and will sync your last 30 days of cycling.

Cyclists can also get involved on social media by sharing pictures, rides and stories using the hashtag #WinterWheelers.

Love to Ride helps members to set goals, track distance, earn badges, share photos and stories and encourage others to ride, as well as allowing workplaces to incentivise their staff to ride and monitor cycling participation at their sites.

Learn more and register at www.lovetoride.net. Winter Wheelers begins on 1 December.
