People still have time to have their say on plans for new cycleways to help provide safer and improved journeys along Madingley Road.

More than 100 people have already shared their thoughts on the proposals which include mostly segregated cycle lanes. The seven week public consultation closes on Monday 2 March.

The Madingley Road improvements would link to the GCP’s proposed Cambourne to Cambridge public transport route and the Comberton Greenway project to make it quicker, easier and safer for people to travel in, out and around the city by sustainable modes of transport.

There are two options which are being consulted on:

Option one provides one-way cycleways on both sides of Madingley Road, which would be semi-segregated from traffic. New crossings would be included.

Option two provides a two-way cycleway on the north side of the road and a one-way cycleway on the south side. Cycleways would be mostly segregated from traffic by a landscaping strip between the cycleway and the road. New crossings would be included.

The GCP has held a number of drop in sessions where people can ask questions and share their opinions with project officers.

The final event will be held on 4 February between 6.30-8.30pm at Churchill College in Storey’s Way.
