Background
Following a period where the introduction of new residents’ parking schemes in Cambridge was paused, Cambridgeshire County Council asked the GCP to carry out the delivery of further residents’ parking schemes as part of its wider City Access programme.
This work forms part of an integrated parking strategy that the GCP is developing with Cambridgeshire County Council and Cambridge City Council. This will cover both on- and off-street parking to ensure a joined-up approach in the way we provide and operate parking across the city. By off-street we mean public car parks managed or operated by the county or city council and local parking standards when assessing planning applications.
We used our ConsultCambs platform to engage with residents, businesses, visitors, and other organisations. The responses to the engagement exercise are detailed below.
