The Department for Transport (DfT) has announced a public inquiry into our new busway, travel hub and path for walkers and cyclists linking Cambourne to Cambridge. The public inquiry will take place from 15 September 2025.
The scheme connects existing and new communities to the west of Cambridge with the city via the new Bourn Airfield development, Hardwick, Coton and the West Cambridge site. The project also includes a new travel hub at Scotland Farm for easy access from the A428 and to help car drivers switch to a guided bus to make it simpler to get into the city.
Our scheme gives more travel choices, making it quicker, easier and more reliable to get to where you need to go.
More details on the public inquiry and how to attend or view online, will be published on the independent public inquiry website.
Statement of Case
As part of the public inquiry process, we have submitted a Statement of Case to the DfT. Our Statement of Case sets out the reasons for the scheme. This and other core documents can be viewed on the independent public inquiry website.
Pre-meeting
Ahead of the public inquiry, a pre-meeting has been set for Tuesday 24 June. The pre-meeting will discuss procedural issues and set a timetable for the inquiry.
