Working to share prosperity and improve the quality of life for the people of Greater Cambridge
We’re a local delivery body bringing investment to vital improvements in infrastructure, housing, and skills
One of the largest city deals in the UK, we bring together key partners to work with communities, businesses, and industry leaders.
Our partners are:
- Cambridge City Council
- Cambridgeshire County Council
- South Cambridgeshire District Council
- University of Cambridge
- Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority Business Board
We’re working to support the continued growth of one of the world’s leading tourism and business destinations.
What we’re delivering
We’re helping accelerate the creation of 44,000 new jobs, 33,500 new homes and hundreds of additional apprenticeships, and supporting growth with our integrated transport plan, offering viable alternatives to driving, off-road active travel and leisure routes.
By integrating these plans with upcoming rail improvements, on-road cycle provisions, city-based traffic management, and improved bus services, we will secure Greater Cambridge as a successful city region.
How we make decisions
The city deal was signed by all five local partners and the government to bring about transformative economic benefits through a collaborative governance framework.
This features an executive board that brings together the partner organisations, and a wider joint assembly.
Our funding and investment
Signed in 2014, our city deal with central government is worth up to £500 million in funding to 2030.
We undertake a gateway review every four to five years, which if successful, unlocks more funding.
Our first review in 2019 was successful. Our second review started in January 2023 and reports are to be published in Autumn 2024.
