The Greater Cambridge Partnership is encouraging people to share their views on a proposed resident parking zone and on the designs for three Greater Cambridge Greenways.

The GCP has today launched a public consultation on proposals to introduce a residents parking zone around the southern area of Milton Road and, separately, is asking people to help shape the Melbourn Greenway as a rolling programme of public engagement continues.

Milton Road Resident Parking Scheme public consultation

The Milton Road area resident parking scheme consultation gets underway today (Monday 3 October) and runs until midday on Monday 14 November.

The proposals aim to ensure that residents of the Milton Road area have a sufficient number of parking spaces for their requirements.

A combination of residents parking bays, pay and display bays and limited waiting bays could be introduced to support residents and the needs of businesses and community facilities in the area.

Greenways public engagement

The GCP has also today launched the next stage of public engagement on the Greater Cambridge Greenways – a new network of active travel routes linking surrounding towns and villages to the city.

People can now share their feedback on the Melbourn Greenway – a 12 mile route connecting the village and Melbourn Science Park with Cambridge via Foxton, Harston and Hauxton, where it will join up with the Hasingfield Greenway.

Next month, public engagement will begin on the Barton and Sawston Greenways to provide better walking cycling and, where appropriate, equestrian links.

The Greater Cambridge Partnership launched a rolling programme of public engagement on the Greenways in the summer to give communities an opportunity to shape how each route will look and feel to provide first-class active travel journeys.

When complete, there will be about 150km of Greenways to provide new and improved active travel links to more than 50 communities and public transport hubs.
