Cambridge Regional College’s Apprenticeships, Jobs & Careers Fairs are ideal for employers looking to recruit the next generation of talent.

Employers will get the opportunity to meet people looking for apprenticeships, full and part time jobs, work experience placements and volunteer roles.

The Cambridge and Huntingdon Careers Fairs are taking place during National Careers Week in March 2024 delivered with funding from the Greater Cambridge Partnership.

Cllr Elisa Meschini, Chair of the GCP’s Executive Board, said:

“Recent research shows the strength of the Greater Cambridge economy and jobs market – and not just in the traditional areas of strength like life sciences and high-tech, but also the supporting sectors such as retail and construction. This is providing a balance of skills, experience and opportunities for people now and a strong platform for the workforce of the future.

“The Apprenticeships, Jobs and Careers Fairs – part funded by the GCP as part of our commitment to boosting the number of apprenticeships – provide a great chance for employers to showcase the exciting opportunities that are on offer in our growing region for the next generation of workers.”

The event attracts a range of local employers from different industries and recruiting for a variety of apprenticeships and jobs. Last year’s Careers Fairs saw over 2,000 people walk through the doors to explore their options with employers.

Mo Horan, Director of Employer Engagement CRC, said:

“Employers get their apprenticeship and career opportunities in front of a wide range of people. The fairs are open to both young people looking into career options and next steps and adults looking for work, career changes or progression.

Employers get the opportunity to talk face-to-face with potential employees and secure the best candidates for their roles. Any employer in the region looking for a way to access talent pipelines will benefit from exhibiting.”

The project funded through the Greater Cambridge Partnership also includes the chance for employers to inspire the future workforce by engaging with students from Years 5 & 6 (9–11-year-olds) at the Form the Future CIC run, Primary Careers Fair also hosted at CRC’s Cambridge Campus on the morning of the same day. Making it a high impact engagement opportunity in one day.
