- What: as part of work on the Comberton Greenway we need to close the B1046 to allow for overnight resurfacing and road marking works to be completed
- Where: between Kentings junction and Bennell Court B1046/Barton Road, Comberton
- When: 4-8 December 2023
- Times: 8pm-6am
- Duration: five nights
- Traffic management: to complete this work a full road closure will be required
The B1046 will be closed from Kentings to Bennell Court during these dates and times, with an approved diversion route in place.
Residents: access to residents’ properties within the closure area above will be maintained at all times via foot, but vehicle access will be limited. Access to and from the B1046 will be via either end of the closure area depending on the progress of the works. Traffic management operatives will be positioned at each closure point and will advise accordingly.
Access to Comberton Village College: surfacing works will be taking place in this area including at the college junctions. Access to Comberton Village College will mainly be via Kentings junction with appropriate signage in place. Whilst we’re working on the bus access junction, access to Comberton Village College will be via the Bennell Court closure point.
Diversion route: the diversion route is shown in the diagram above and will utilise the following roads: Church Lane, Tinkers Lane, High Street, Hailton Road, A603 Cambridge Road, Comberton Road, Royston Lane and South Street.
Emergency vehicles: access will be provided for emergency vehicles at all times.
Pedestrians and cyclists: footways/cycleways will remain open at all times.
Parking and property/business access: we ask people not to park on the road in the area of works, as this will cause delays and could prolong the period of road closures.
