Adams Road

Work on Adams Road continues. Recent works include:

  • Installation of all rain gardens.
  • Completion of footway surfacing.
  • Streetlighting installation nearing completion.
  • Continued upgrades to the junction of Grange Road and Adams Road with new traffic signals being installed.

Resurfacing of the road is underway. During these works pedestrian and cyclist access will be maintained, some delays may be experienced when accessing or exiting the road.

We would like to thank the residents of Adams Road for their patience while construction continues.

Preparation for works on the Shepreth section of the Melbourn Greenway is expected to start next week. This will begin with the setting up of the site compound on one arm (the east section of the triangle junction) on Meldreth Road. Access will be maintained for properties on Meldreth Road.

The Shepreth Spur will include:

  • A new crossing outside Shepreth Village Hall.
  • New raised tables on Fowlmere Road at the junctions with Meldreth Road, Angle Lane and Barron’s Green.
  • The addition of double yellow lines along Station Road.
  • Introduction of a 20mph speed limit starting at the Barron’s Green and Fowlmere Road junction through to the railway station.
  • Traffic calming measures, such as speed humps and a 30mph limit added on Fowlmere Road between Barron’s Green and the A10.
  • Street lighting throughout Shepreth will also be upgraded.
