Adams Road

Works have been progressing well on Adams Road. Vegetation has been cleared, kerb lines have been added, and we’re now finishing the surfacing of the footpath on the southern side of the road between Wilberforce Road and Sylvester Road. Landscaping of the rain gardens has also been completed in this section.

On the northern side of the road, between Sylvester Road and Grange Road, final surfacing has been completed, and works will now move to the opposite side of the road.

In the next month, we’ll also start work on upgrading the existing signalised junction of Grange Road and Adams Road.

We would like to thank the residents of Adams Road for their patience while construction continues.

Resurfacing and white lining works at High Street/Cambridge Road junction took place overnight between Thursday 19 and Saturday 21 February. Further white lining in the village will take place in March. Completion of the street lighting installation will take place at the end of next month.

We would like to thank Coton residents for their patience while construction continues.

Barton village - Feb newsletter

Barton village

Installation of safer crossings in Barton village is almost complete. At the end of March/beginning of April, our contractors will finish the remaining elements. This will include completing the new parallel crossing at Burwash Manor, installing a new streetlight at the bus stop next to Kings Grove and adding the last of the white lining to New Road and Comberton Road. Play logs for the community are on order and will be installed near Conkers village shop.

Melbourn Greenway

Shepreth

Following improvements from Meldreth Station to Station Road (Meldreth station link), we are working to bring forward planned works in Shepreth for delivery this year. A decision on the construction of the rest of the Melbourn Greenway will be taken to our summer Executive Board later this year.

The Shepreth Spur will create a link from the Melbourn Greenway on the A10 (Royston Road) to Shepreth railway station.

The improvements in Shepreth are designed to make travel safer and more accessible for everyone. The scheme will include:

  • New, more accessible crossing points for people walking.
  • On Station Road, double yellow lines will be introduced to help reduce congestion and improve safety around the level crossing.
  • A 20mph zone from Barrons Green to the station.
  • On Fowlmere Road, we will be installing upgraded street lighting along with traffic calming measures, including speed bumps and a reduced speed limit.

Further information on the construction of the scheme will be shared with residents in advance of works starting.
