Fulbourn Greenway FAQs

The greenway is approximately 6.4km and connects Cambridge railway station to the village of Fulbourn.

We aim to start works in Fulbourn village phase 1 ( from Fulbourn village to Yarrow Road) by the end of 2026.

We’re working on the designs for phase 2 (from Yarrow Road to A1134/Mill Road junction) and phase 3 (from A1134/Mill Rd junction to Cambridge station via Mill Road ) before bringing them forward for delivery.

The greenway will link south-east Cambridge to its superstores, shops and facilities, while creating a direct, low-stress, low-traffic route away from main roads for walking, wheeling and cycling. The greenway will make it safer and easier to reach Fulbourn Primary and Cherry Hinton primary, The Netherhall School and St. Bede’s Inter-Church School.

All of our greenways routes will have signage and wayfinding, which will help people who are not familiar with the route.

Updates can be found by signing up to receive our newsletter which shows the progress of our greenways.

Streetlighting will be upgraded throughout the route to improve safety.
