The city access project is being shaped by wide ranging public engagement and discussion.
Choices for Better Journeys
In March 2019 we ran the Choices for Better Journeys public survey. More than 5,000 residents and transport users took part. They were asked to choose the best way of funding public transport and reducing traffic jams:
- 81% chose a traffic-reducing measure as their first choice.
- 44% chose a pollution charge as their first or second choice option
- 36% chose a flexible charge to drive at the busiest times.
