Milton Road residents’ parking scheme progresses

Published 10 December 2025

Installation of the Milton Road area residents’ parking scheme is now well underway.

As part of the works, Arbury Road will be closed overnight for line painting from Wednesday 17 to Friday 19 December, between 8pm and 6am. Parking will not be permitted during these hours, although access to properties will be maintained and a signed diversion will be in place. The dates and times are subject to weather conditions.

Further lining work is scheduled on Chestnut Grove, George Street and Springfield Road on Monday 15 and Tuesday 16 December, with temporary mobile traffic management in place. Residents who park here will be asked to move their vehicles while this takes place.

Cambridgeshire County Council will be carrying out surface repairs and filling in potholes alongside the installation of the parking scheme to keep disruption to residents to a minimum

Please note that the new lining and signage is not enforceable until the scheme officially goes live in the new year.

All addresses within the scheme boundary will receive a letter early next week with more details about the upcoming work.
