Following feedback from the autumn 2023 consultation on the revised route for the Waterbeach Greenway, we have been working with local stakeholders in Milton to shape a scheme that reflects local priorities and provides better opportunities for walking, wheeling and cycling. We have reviewed and updated the designs in response to feedback, and a revised proposal for the section of the greenway through Milton has now been produced.
During this time, the design for the northern section of the greenway between Waterbeach and Ely Road has progressed to the next design stage with detailed design work due to start soon. This progress reflects the overall support received for this section during the 2023 consultation.
For the section through Milton village, the next stage of work will focus on engagement with residents and stakeholders. To achieve this, we have appointed Walk Wheel Cycle Trust (WWCT) to undertake additional engagement activities based on the updated designs. As an independent organisation, WWCT will lead engagement on the revised proposals for the section through Milton, alongside wider engagement with residents in Waterbeach on the latest northern section designs. Communications regarding the upcoming engagement on the Waterbeach Greenway will therefore be issued by WWCT across August and September.
