Connector

Our Connector project explores how autonomous buses could support future public transport in Greater Cambridge.

Working with industry partners and government, we’re running passenger trials to understand how automated services can operate safely as part of the existing transport network.

We have two trials currently running which are free for passengers to use:

Autonomous buses have the potential to improve access to public transport, support services outside peak hours, and increase network efficiency. Safety underpins all activity, with extensive testing and trained safety drivers on board at all times.

Our Connector project builds on our earlier autonomous shuttles trial delivered through the Smart Cambridge programme.
