Linton Greenway FAQs

The length of the Linton greenway is approximately 15km, connecting Linton to Hildersham, continuing onto Great and Little Abingtons which connects to Cambridge Biomedical Campus through existing routes.

The Linton Greenway is being delivered in sections:

Construction on the section at Linton Village College is set to be scheduled for 2027.

The Linton Greenway will offer a range of improvements for local communities, commuters and visitors, including:

  • A safe, green active‑travel route into and out of Cambridge for walkers, cyclists and horse riders.

  • Easier access to workplaces, schools, colleges, shops and transport hubs.

  • Direct links to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, the Sawston and Melbourn Greenways, and the Chisholm Trail.

  • Widened footways and verges (where feasible) to create a separated path for non‑motorised users.

  • An upgraded footbridge across the A11, including new ramps and stud lighting to improve accessibility and safety.

All of our greenways routes will have signage and wayfinding, which will help people who are not familiar with the route.

Streetlighting will be upgraded throughout the route to improve safety.
