Section 3 involves further design work on the bridge crossing the A11. As this scheme is closely connected with the proposals for a new busway and travel hub, it will be taken forward as part of the CSET Phase 2 proposals.

Plans for the Linton Village College and Icknield Way links are progressing well, with construction now planned for Summer 2027 to coincide with school holidays.

Section 4 is currently being redesigned following the rejection of a previous planning application, which was turned down due to the lack of a workable solution to mitigate the conflict between the proposed lighting and the legal protections afforded to the local bat population. Subject to progress with the redesign and the outcome of public consultation, construction could begin in 2027. The proposal will be brought back to the board for further discussion.

Section 2 is completed, including works along Newmarket Road in Little Abington allows1,500 residents to enjoy better and safer journeys along the road to the Granta Park roundabout, east of Bourn Bridge Road.

Section 1 is completed and run alongside the A1307 between Addenbrooke’s and Babraham Research Campus. This consisted of widening of existing paths and verges to provide a path for cyclists, pedestrians and horse riders, separated from the carriageway.

Works began on Section 1 of the Linton Greenway, including resurfacing at Worts Causeway and Red Cross Lane.

The decision to proceed with construction was taken by our Executive Board.
