The greenway is approximately 11.3km, connecting Comberton, Hardwick, Coton and Cambridge.
Works in Coton have been largely completed with a 20mph speed limit Traffic Regulation Order to be advertised later this year.
Work on Adams Road are underway and we’re aiming to be finished this summer 2026.
Following a decision by our executive board in March 2026, we have approval to deliver initial works on Sidgwick Avenue under an experimental traffic regulation order.
The reminder of the route is subject to the approval of Comberton Greenway planning application.
Comberton Greenway will make it easier for people to walk, wheel or cycle between Comberton, Hardwick, Coton and Cambridge, with provision for horse riding where possible.
In particular, the greenway will improve active travel access to University of Cambridge sites including the West Campus, the Sidgwick site and Newnham College.
The improvements provided by the greenway will enhance access for local school and college students to Comberton Village College.
All of our greenway routes will have signage and wayfinding, which will help people who are not familiar with the route.

Streetlighting has been upgraded throughout the route to improve safety.
Works in Coton village have been largely completed. A 20mph speed limit will be added later this year.
Red surfacing has been added to Adams Road. The installation of improved street lighting along the route has been completed. Further works will follow, including lining.
