Shepreth

Works through Shepreth are progressing, with improvements made near to the railway station and Wildlife Park. This has included the installation of new gullies and kerbs to improve space for pedestrians.

Works to tighten Meldreth Road junction and provide raised tables over Station Road and Fowlmere Road have also been completed alongside resurfacing works through the village.

Further resurfacing will take place outside the entrance of the railway station and Wildlife Park, as well as installing a raised table on Meldreth Road, once drainage issues have been resolved.

Construction has now moved to Fowlmere Road and Shepreth Road, which are currently closed, with no vehicle access to the A10 available from these routes. Access remains available via signed diversion routes within Fowlmere and Shepreth, you can find out more and view the diversion route here.

The closure is necessary to enable utility diversion works on the A10 and will remain in place until works in the area are complete. We’d like to thank people for their patience.

Riverside

Our consultation on proposals to improve Riverside in Cambridge, as part of the Bottisham Greenway, has now closed. Thank you to everyone who responded. 

Overall, our proposals aim to create a safer, more accessible and enjoyable through route to the city and its surrounding areas. The proposals include:

Wider, more consistent footways for people walking and wheeling

Clearer signage and installation of pedestrian crossings to support wayfinding and help slow down vehicles and bikes.

Safe and secure cycle parking along the route to encourage sustainable travel.

Resting places with planting and accessible seating for wheelchair users, people with pushchairs and others.
