Melbourn Greenway

We’ve finished installing new streetlights on Fowlmere Road, we’re now focusing on improving drainage on Angle Lane and Meldreth Road.
From Thursday 1 October, the High Street will be temporarily closed near the war memorial so it can be used as the project compound. This will be in place for around two weeks, with a minor diversion route around the war memorial.
At the same time, surfacing work will be carried out at the Fowlmere Road/A10 junction, along with the installation of speed restriction humps between the A10 junction and Angle Lane. This is expected to take two days, with full access maintained for residents.
On Friday 2 October, there will be an overnight closure of the A10, so temporary traffic management equipment can be removed. Fowlmere Road and Shepreth Road will also reopen following the completion of these works.
We’ve done some investigation work into the drainage system around the Meldreth junction with Fowlmere Road, we’re now ready to proceed with repairs. Temporary traffic signals will be in place at the junction for around two weeks from Monday 5 October.
Thank you to residents for their patience while this work is carried out.

Comberton Greenway

We're introducing a trial experimental traffic regulation order on Sidgwick Avenue to help make it safer and easier to use.
The footway will be widened to two metres using build outs around the trees on the northern footway and removing parking bays. Drop-down bollards will also be installed to reduce through traffic and potholes will be repaired. These measures will create more space for people walking and wheeling and make the road safer for cyclists.
Works are due to begin Monday 19 October, we’ll be carrying out a survey before and after the changes to help evaluate the trial.
