As part of the wider Cambridge Eastern Access programme, the proposed travel hub would support more sustainable travel options, ease congestion, and provide vital connections for communities travelling into the city.

This larger, relocated hub - planned for a site off Airport Way – would replace the existing Newmarket Road Park and Ride site. It would offer enhanced facilities including expanded car and cycle parking, better bus connections, and improved pedestrian and cyclist access.

The consultation ran from 8 September to 3 November 2025.
